It seems like every spring we are treated to a splash of creativity on our beaches in the form of Rock Sculptures also know as Cairns. What is the purpose of these and what do they mean? The simple answer is they are human made piles or stacks of rocks. Although that doesn’t do the feat of creating these justice….does it? I like to think of the possible spiritual tie to creating these and the patience that is required to find the perfect rock and then balance one rock upon the other all while letting yourself go in the process. Simple and beautiful.
